Overview

The LMP3 class was launched by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) in 2015, with 2020 marking the introduction of the second generation of LMP3 cars. Four chassis manufacturers offer their homologated LMP3 cars for the class: Ligier, Duqueine Engineering, Ginetta and Adess.

The LMP3 class in detail:

Oreca is the exclusive supplier of the powertrain (engine, transmission and electronics).
The cars for the 2020 - 2025 homologation period are a further development of the existing cars.
An upgrade kit has been defined for the period from 2020, encompassing safety, performance and design.
From 2020, a standardized new naturally aspirated V8 engine from Nissan, type VK56, will be used in the LMP3 class. The engines produce 455 hp.
For the chassis, some safety-related changes were made for the driver's headrest structure and the driver's seat for the second-generation car. In addition, Zylon side panels were introduced.
The cars feature traction control.
